Furnishing design for the new media library in Saint Malò, France.
The supply consists of:
- Hub Foyer – Reception and reading space, made up of two Corian rings that reach different levels of height, supported by an MDF structure and painted metal blades, with plexiglas clips that perform only an aesthetic “clamping” function . To complete the space we designed worktops and seats, covered in technical fabric.
- Hub Enfance – Play and reading space for children, made up of a Corian ring supported by an MDF structure. Container boxes for games or books have been created inside the ring. Two plexiglas staples perform an aesthetic “clamping” function. To complete the space we designed worktops and seats, covered in technical fabric.
- Hub Automaté – The structure is made of white matte lacquered MDF,and it is used for returning books. The product is built on two levels, to be also accessible by disabled people. Finally, it has a monitor, a printer and an RFID reader.
- Numeric Box – Structure in metal and wood, used for listening to and watching CDs/DVDs. It is accessible by disabled people thanks to a specifically designed internal space, and a motorized sliding entrance door. Sound-absorbing panels have been mounted inside the structure, and an air exchange system has also been designed.
- Table Presentoire – Series of tables constituted of an MDF top and a tubolar metal structure, with plexiglass clips acting as a lectern. They are used to present novelties in the literary field to the public.
- Cisson de Retour – MDF cabinet mounted on wheels, used to rearrange books borrowed by users and then returned on the shelves of the media library.
